The film stars  Vijay Devarakonda ,  Rashmika Mandanna  and  Shruti Ramachandran . Principal photography  of the film commenced in August 2018. Jersey  is a 2019 Indian  Telugu-language   sports drama  film written and directed by Gowtham Tinnanuri and is produced by Suryadevar Naga Vamsi under his production banner Sithara Entertainments. The film stars  Nani  and  Shraddha Srinath  in the lead roles while  Harish Kalyan ,  Sanusha ,  Sathyaraj ,  Sampath Raj , and  Viswant  play pivotal roles. ' 96  is a 2018 Indian  Tamil-language   romantic drama film  written and directed by C. Premkumar, starring  Vijay Sethupathi  and  Trisha  in lead roles. The film revolves around, two high school sweethearts from the batch of 1996 who meet at a reunion, 22 years after they parted.

Shiv Kumar Batalvi  (23 July 1936 –6 May 1973 was an  Indian  poet, writer and playwright of the  Punjabi language . He was most known for his romantic poetry, noted for its heightened passion, pathos, separation and lover's agony. He became the youngest recipient of the  Sahitya Akademi Award  in 1967, given by the  Sahitya Akademi  (India's National Academy of Letters), for his epic  verse play  based on the ancient legend of Puran Bhagat,  Loona  (1965), now considered a masterpiece in modern  Punjabi literature , and which also created a new genre, of modern  Punjabi kissa . Manto  is a 2018 Indian  biographical   drama film  about the famous  Urdu  author  Saadat Hasan Manto , written and directed by  Nandita Das . The film stars  Nawazuddin Siddiqui  in the title character of Indo-Pakistani, author and writer Saadat Hasan Manto.  Tahir Raj Bhasin  plays the 1940s Bollywood superstar Shyam Chadda.   Shyam  was Manto's friend, confidant, and inspiration for a number of stories. Manto earned seven nominations at  64th Filmfare Awards  including  Best Film Critics ,  Best Actor Critics  for Siddiqui. The poster of the film was unveiled at the  2017 Cannes Film Festival . Das made a short film titled  In Defence of Freedom , also starring Nawazuddin in the main role, and was released on  YouTube  on 23 March 2017.
